The apprenticeship of Heinrich Schütz.
The nineteen madrigals Heinrich Schütz published in Venice in 1611at the age of twenty-six occupy a fundamental position in his career aswell as in the history of music. For it was in Italy that the father ofGerman baroque music learned his craft under the living god of Venetianpolyphony, Giovanni Gabrieli. Not only did the pupil end up byexcelling the master, but these Italian madrigals also formed the solidfoundation of all sacred music of the future, since they possessed inembryo all the qualities of the composer's creative genius.
This title was released for the first time in 1999.

Rezensionen
