There's really no way to encapsulate here, in approximately 500 measly words, all that you ought to know about MUDHONEY before being shot through by their new record "Since We've Become Translucent". Briefly then: formed in 1988, the pretty much invented that thing called grunge. Now, with the history covered, on to new news.... "Since We've Become Translucent" is the first MUDHONEY record not ti include Matt Lukin on bass. the inimitable Mr. Lukin remains resolutely retired, through wholly supportive of new MUDHONEY activity. Guy Maddison (Ex-BLOODLODD, ex-LUBRICATED GOAT) steps in for Matt on bass and his induction (as well as his bass playing) provides the most evident change in the band between now and 1998' "Tomorrow Hit Today". It is also the first MUDHONEY record to include a horn section on a couple of songs. This is MUDHONEY's eighth full-length record, and it was recorded as 2001 became 2002 in three seperate studios in Seattle: Gravelvoice (with producer Scott Colburn), Jupiter (with Martin Feveyear) and Egg (with Johnny Sangster). Three songs at each three studios. Which, makes nine. That tenth song "Inside Job" (with Wayne Kramer (MC5) on bass) was recorded by Jack Endino back in April 2000 and remixed by Mr. Endino in December 2001.
