Ein Ehepaar zieht in ein Landhaus in New England, nachdem ihr Sohn bei einem Autounfall ums Leben gekommen ist. Doch bald mehren sich in dem Haus einige unheimliche und unerklärliche Vorkommnisse. Anne und Paul suchen nach Hilfe und laden ein befreundetes Paar ein, das sich schon mit vielen mysteriösen Phänomenen beschäftigt hat und dem Spuk ein Ende bereiten soll. Schnell wird klar, dass eine rachsüchtige Geister-Familie das Haus bewohnt und alle Neuankömmlinge attakiert.
