nice music but badly recorded

I don't comment on the artistic quality of these recordings and the repertoire, Sinopoli was simply great. I just want to say that the 9th Symphony is very poorly recorded, the trumpets are very distorted and create an awful "buzz" which makes the enjoyment of listening completely gone away... it's really impossible to enjoy and I'm surprised that a digital master could be kept as such. Pity, a true disappointment.

wonderful box indeed, for me the best recent recording of the complete Symphonies, perfect sound, magnificent execution and impressive emotional participation, it's a must for all the Shostakovich lovers!

excellent

to me this is the best recording of the complete Sonatas made in recent times, wonderful sound, emotionally very involving, clarity of the touch, richness of colours (which are totally crucial with Scriabin).. indeed something to keep among the best CDs ever!
