Sir William Walton wäre im März dieses Jahres 100. Jahre alt geworden. Der auf den britischen Inseln ungemein populäre Komponist, wird diesseits des Ärmelkanals immer ein wenig beiseite geschoben, wenn es um britische Musik geht. Das Album »A Centenary Celebration« präsentiert anlässlich des runden Geburtstages die Weltersteinspielung von »Façade«, ein Entertainment für Sprecher und Instrumente (zu Texten von Edith Sitwell) und eine von Edward Watson bearbeitete Suite aus seiner Filmmusik zu Heinrich V. (Henry V.) in der Shakespeare-Verfilmung von Laurence Olivier aus dem Jahr 1944.
