Igor Stravinskys wohl bekanntestem Werk »Le Sacre du Printemps« ist diese Jubiläums-Edition gewidmet. Die Vollendung des Werks jährt sich dieses Jahr zum 100ten Mal. Bei seiner Uraufführung 1913 in Paris löste das Werk einen Sturm der Empörung aus. Als letztes seiner drei Ballette trägt dieses deutlich avantgardistische Züge.

Durch seine völlig neuartige Klangsprache wird »Le Sacre du Printemps« als richtungsweisendes Schlüsselwerk des 20. Jahrhunderts gesehen. Viele große Dirigenten, wie Leopold Stokowski, Leonard Bernstein, Pierre Boulez uvm. , haben sich damit beschäftigt und mit bedeutenden Orchestern, wie der New York Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, Chicago Symphony Orchestra etc. , großartige Aufnahmen geschaffen, die heutzutage als Referenz gelten. Außerdem enthält diese Jubiläumsedition Aufnahmen, in denen Igor Stravinsky selbst sein Meisterwerk dirigiert.

Wertvolle "Mogelpackung"

Es sind ein paar tolle - und sogar ein paar für den Enthusiasten "unverzichtbare" Aufnahmen, insbes. die beiden von Strawinsky dirigierten, dabei.
Wer diese Box kauft, weiß ja, auf was er sich einlässt - und der Preis ist inzwischen ja sehr gering (12,99 Ende März 2014).
Ärgerlich jedoch:
keine der CDs ist so lang, dass nicht immer ZWEI Aufnahmen auf eine CD gepasst hätten - fünf CDs hätten eigentlich gereicht.
Die weiteren Aufnahmen (anderer Werke) auf den jeweiligen Original-CDs wurden nämlich (bis auf eine Ausnahme) konsequent weggelassen - das ist etwas Schade und berechtigt wohl zur Bezeichnung als "Mogelpackung".

Bei so vielenn unterschiedlichen Aufnahmen aus ganz verschiedenen Jahrzehnten kann die Bewertung mit Sternen natürlich nur ein "Mittelwert" sein...
