Simone Lamsma, First Prize Winner of the China International Violin Competition 2005, Benjamin Britten International Violin Competition 2004, and the Dutch National Violin Competition 2003, has performed to great acclaim throughout Europe, USA, South America, South Africa and China. She graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London in 2005, as the youngest student ever to enter the Bachelor of Music course. Simone performs on the 'Habeneck' Stradivarius, generously on loan to her from the Royal Academy of Music. This recital couples one of Elgar's finest chamber works, the unashamedly romantic yet deeply serious Violin Sonata, with a selection of delightful miniatures.
