George Orwell: George Orwell: Notes on Nationalism (English Edition), Kartoniert / Broschiert

George Orwell's "Notes on Nationalism" (first published in 1945) is a groundbreaking examination of political psychology. In this essay, Orwell redefines nationalism not as love of country, but as a dangerous habit of mind: the urge to merge one's identity with a cause, ideology, or power bloc and to place it beyond moral scrutiny. With clarity and moral precision, Orwell dissects how nationalism distorts perception, corrodes intellectual honesty, and replaces facts with emotional allegiance. He shows how even educated individuals become capable of extraordinary self-deception once they believe themselves to be serving a higher collective purpose. This edition is the English-language paperback version of Orwell's classic essay.
