ROLLING STONE ALBUM GUIDE ***1/2 "'Make It Big' found the lads discovering melody. "Freedom" was great fluff, its arch, baroque chord changes putting it in the league of Abba's orchestral efforts (or the Toys' "I Hear a Symphony"). "Credit Card Baby" summed up yuppie romance; "Everything She Wants" and "Careless Whisper" were oily, massage-parlor ballads that suggested that Wham! had the hubris not to let Prince go it alone on that turf. "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go", the album's big single, was silliness at its almost transcendent extreme."-
