Die Compilation ist inspiriert von Billy Braggs jüngstem Buch »Roots, Radicals And Rockers«. Diese 60 Tracks vermitteln diese wesentliche und einflussreiche Art der Musik, die in den 50er Jahren in Großbritannien so beliebt war. Beeinflusst von amerikanischem Jazz, Country und Blues spielt diese Musikrichtung eine Schlüsselrolle für die British Blues Invasion der frühen 1960er Jahre.
