Die Sixties Mod Band THE ACTION veröffentlichte in ihrer aktiven Zeit nur sechs Singles - oder sieben, wenn man die pre-Action Single von The Boys mitzählt – doch ihr Ruf als Legende wuchs seit ihrer Auflösung im Jahr 1968 nur noch weiter an. THE ACTION war die erste Band, die Beatles Produzent George Martin signte, nachdem er EMI verlassen hatte, um seine eigene Firma AIR Productions zu gründen.
Natürlich produzierte er die fünf Singles, die zwischen 1965 und 1967 auf Parlophone veröffentlicht wurden, sowie Songs, die für ein nie veröffentlichtes Album aufgenommen wurden. SHADOWS AND REFLECTIONS ist bei weitem das umfangreichste Tribute an THE ACTION, das je zusammengestellt wurde, inklusive aller Studioaufnahmen und Live Radio / TV Auftritte. Viele der Original Parlophone Single Mixe werden heute erstmals veröffentlicht.
Das Box Set enthält unzählige Fotos von THE ACTION auf ihrem Höhepunkt, sowie ein langes Vorwort von David Wells und ein 36-seitiges Booklet mit einem 4-CD ›Digibook‹.
