One of the true guitar legends, Roy Buchanan (1939-1988) from Ozark, Alabama, USA, produced a string of highly acclaimed albums during the 1970s. Among his recorded stage appearances, ‘Live In Japan’ is rated as one of his finest. Taped back in 1978, this amazing album was released only in Japan by Polydor, but here it is on CD. This is blues at its most moving, including Buchanan trademarks such as ‘Sweet Dreams’ and his rendition of the Hendrix classic ‘Hey Joe’, both of which are presented with incomparable and breathtaking guitar pyrotechnics.
