Der irische Blues Rock Multiinstrumentalist Rory Gallagher nahm in den Siebziger und Achtziger Jahren einige Soloalben auf. Music On Vinyl hat bereits das ,lost album" ,Notes From San Francisco" veröffentlicht, so dass es jetzt höchste Zeit wird, den ersten beiden Alben von Gallagher die gleiche Behandlung - neues Mastering auf 180gr Vinyl - zukommen zu lassen. Sein Solodebüt von 1971 markierte den Abschied von der ersten Gallagher Band Taste. Gallagher schrieb sämtliche Songs selbst und nahm das Album mit zwei befreundeten Musikern aus Belfast auf. ,Deuce" ist das zweite Soloalbum von Rory Gallagher. Im Gegensatz zu dem sorgfältig produzierten Vorgänger, sollte ,Deuce" die Energie einer Liveperformance einfangen. Um dieses Ziel zu erreichen, nahm Gallagher die Tracks oft direkt vor oder nach einem Auftritt auf und nutze nur minimale Produktionstechniken.

Now it's time for Gallagher's first two album to get fully remastered and pressed on audiophile 180-grams vinyl. Rory Gallagher released his eponymous solo debut album in 1971. This album marked the departure from Taste, the first band which Gallagher founded, and the start of his solo career. Gallagher wrote all the songs himself and recorded the album with two befriended Belfast musicians. 'Deuce' is Gallagher's second solo album and was originally released in 1971 as well. In contrast with his previous well-produced album, 'Deuce' was an effort by to capture the energy of a live performance. In order to do so Gallagher would often record immediately before or after live performances while keeping production at a minimum.
