Stand by for punk rock – American style. Count Five from California are typical of the ‘High School’ groups inspired by British outfits like The Yardbirds, The Who and Small Faces. They were dubbed ‘one hit wonders’ thanks to their only U. S. Top 5 hit ‘Psychotic Reaction’. Wearing Dracula style capes at gigs helped gain more publicity for this lively group, fronted by Dublin born singer and guitarist Sean Byrne and vocalist Ken Ellner. Hear 11 songs from their only album, first released in 1966, and including their psychotic hit. We have added a further 17 bonus tracks comprising A and B-sides of singles, previously unreleased demos and alternative stereo mixes.
