Im Jahr 2029 wird das südkoreanische Raumschiff Woori-ho auf dem Weg zum Mond bei einer Sonneneruption beschädigt, wodurch die Kommunikation zur Bodenstation unterbrochen wird. Bei Reparaturarbeiten am Außenmantel kommt es schließlich zu einer verheerenden Explosion. Einziger Überlebender ist der Astronaut Sun-woo, der nun mehrere Hunderttausende Kilometer von der Erde entfernt um sein Leben kämpfen muss.
