Harmony Records wurde 1925 als Unterlabel von Columbia Records gegründet und erfuhr 1957 eine Wiederbelebung, während der nur Longplayer und keine Singles mehr veröffentlicht wurden. Der große Vorteil des Labels war die Verfügbarkeit des kompletten Back-Katalogs von Columbia. So fanden sich auf vielen Compilations Juwelen, wie zum Beispiel Gene Krupas jazziges Titelstück oder auch ein seltenes Bluesstück der Carter Family.
