After 35 years of music playing alongside renowned musicians of the the jazz world, but not only, Enzo Pietropaoli decided to begin a new artistic season presenting itself in the new role of »band l eader«, pushed by new essential motivations.
Unlike other previous experiences Pietropaoli feels, for the first time, the need to look away and to begin an ambitious path of construction, not transitional, supported by the knowledge that this is the right individuallly and »historical« time. So he decided what to do growing up. And here is a new quartet, where the theme is a bluish color, which is not »blues«, but something more, an expansion in which you can feel at home or, at least, in one of the rooms of his »own music home« the hallmark of this artistic line is a formal sobriety through which to communicate possibly understandable and never superficial emotions; it's always been his vocation as a musician and composer.
Enzo Pietropaoli consider that jazz has already given everything and its opposite, so he doesn' t searche not originality in its music, but grows small but decisive differences, avoiding complacency solo, trying to put into practice »the lesson« of the great masters, »placing the notes in the right place... »Focusing more on »how « rather than on »what« to do. His search for simplicity, where »don't do« matters most than »to do«, where the pauses weights most than the notes, even if not always, is an ambitious and very stimulant challenging goal.
The repertoire is a mix of original compositions by Enzo Pietropaoliand pieces borrowed from worlds far away from the jazz, a way performed since his »early times«, the refore »unsospected times.«
