»The news is already in the title of the album: the Doctor 3 returned. Absent from the music business since 2003, their return is more precious than ever, because these years of silence have not produced anything similar in the panorama of Italian jazz record.
Music, or rather the alchemy of Doctor 3 was and is their's only, belongs only to the trio, although individual members of the group have given birth, at this time, to albums of all respect. But, let's face it, it was not the same thing. That said, we are once again faced with an album that does not stop turning the CD player: irresistibly jazz, this is, unlike earlier, an album decidedly nocturnal atmospheres rich blue.
Here there is minimalism and synthesis, compared to the four previous productions; there is a crystal-clear sound returned in every note, in every agreement, every nuanced harmonic; it is as if the authors so distant in time and space (from Burt Bacharach to Francesco De Gregori, from Damien Rice to Luigi Tenco, from Rodgers and Hart to Mogol / Battisti, passing by Elmer Bernstein, James Taylor and John Williams... ) sounded all similarly, filtered by the soul of the musicians and their instruments returned.
