The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Dexter Gordon selbst bezeichnetet das 1962 bei BlueNote eingespielte Werk GO! als seine beste Studioaufnahme. Tatsächlich ist die Aufnahme enorm energiegeladen und die Improvisationen von Gordon am Tenor-Saxophon sind genau auf den Punkt und er interpretiert Standards wie "Three O'Clock in the Morning" mit aufregender frische ganz neu. Das Album enthält mit "Cheesecake" sogar den größten Hit Gordons.
Die Combo besteht aus Dexter Gordon am Tenor-Saxophon, Sonny Clark am Piano, Butch Warren am Bass und Billy Higgins am Schlagzeug.
Diese Veröffentlichung ist Teil einer Serie von insgesamt 25 Hybrid-SACDs mit den Highlights des Blue Note Kataloges an Jazz Giganten. Alle Titel wurden von den analogen Bändern aus dem Blue Note Archiv in Stereoversion überspielt und bei Analogue Productions in Kalifornien neu gemastert. Schon die CD-Spur zeigt sich früheren Re-Masters und auch den Original LPs aus den 50er Jahren deutlich überlegen.
