The concept of 1958’s Chairman Of The Board was to put the work of band members Thad Jones, Frank Foster and Frank Wess in the forefront.
Foster’s “Blues In Hoss’ Flat”, Wess’s “Segue In C” and Jones’s “The Deacon” all became standards in the band and this album boasted their careers immeasurably. Remastered in 24 bit, this historic Basie album makes its first appearance on CD with two additional bonus tracks from the sessions.
