An LP produced after an unsepcified source
This is a replica of one of the most important jazz players of all times, recorded in New York, 1962, after some years of public absence of the great saxophonist Sonny Rollins. The original album was released by Bluebird/ RCA Victor. So much the more I was surprised not finding on the back cover the source used by WaxTime to produce this vinyl. More than probably, the manufacturer had not acces to the original matrix, but used a digital file, maybe even a SACD already mastered for cutting the vinyl. He added a bonus track recorded in the same year, 1962. Therefore, I paid for a vinyl, but I have the sound of a cd, or even worse. At a first view, this is a little trickery! However, the pressing is quite good (DMM), the text on the back cover is nothing but a copy/paste from the original album (?), so it could be an acceptable substitute for a 'true vinyl'. I would have been happy if JPC could have offered the original RCA Victor replica, but not contrefaits produced by WaxTime, DOL or other dubious manufacturers.
