Yet another Boney M. compilation with edits and non-original material
One can only wonder, why Sony Music keep on using edits and non-original material on Boney M. compilations.
It’s the same issue with the new compilation “The Magic Of Boney M.” 2022 edition.
"Mary's Boy Child/Oh My Lord" only 4;01 minutes? The original 1978 single version is 5;43 minutes. In the 4;01 version Joseph & Marie never makes it to Bethlehem and Jesus is never born. So, what's there to sing about? Furthermore it’s a 1992 overdub/mix.
Rasputin only 4;25? - Original 1978 single version is 4;43
El Lute only 3;58? - Original 1979 single version is 5;09.
Kalimba De Luna only 4;13? - Original 1984 single version is 4;31.
Felicidad only 2;51? - Original 1980 single version is 4;58/4;31.
Gotta Go Home only 2;32? Original 1979 single version is 4;35/4;00.
Ma Baker only 4;06? - Original 1977 single version is 4;47/4;36.
No Women No Cry only 4;18? - Original 1976 version is 4;59.
Most of the songs included are even 1992 overdubs/mixes and not the original ones. The legacy of Boney M. deserves much better.
