Glorious Jessye Norman
A thrilling performance! The stars of the evening are Jessye Norman, Riccardo Muti, and the Bavarian radio forces. Goosebumps! Agnes Baltsa and Yevgeni Nesterenko are both very good indeed but unfortunately José Carreras had an off night here with unstable top notes. The sound is impressive. There are many great recordings of this wonderful work but this is a top recommandation.
