Opus Genin has a unique, very rare to find quality in the whole history of modern music: call it "rewarding complexity."
Music loop is not just difficult, it is sophisticated, yet it bears a strange fascination in its high mark of simplicity and clarity. How and why it is so in principle it is not clear. But, like any secret, it does not need to solve the mysteries, but only of listening.
I know the music from our Genin with him 16 years, that is almost 40 years now, and just remember the moment when I realized that Volodya has grown in the composer - it was in 1983, on the 5th year of the Moscow Conservatory, where he presented to release its amazingly beautiful, finely dressed and deep symphony for violin, viola and orchestra.
Since I know him as an author, writing only masterpieces. These include, for example, such works as "Lament for Andrew Bogoliubsky", "Apocryphal chants," "The Last Journey" in the words E Ba (o) Ratynskyi, Sonata for Viola and Piano, a song cycle to words and Bunin, brilliant vocal poem "Chinese landscape poetry" and much more.
