Good but not great
I was waiting for the paperback edition of this novel, which already indicates that I'm not a hardcore lover of Dan Brown's work (otherwise I would have gone for the hardback!), and that I consider this as travel literature.
And it does not disappoint in this respect! OK, the surprise we all felt with The Da Vinci Code is not so new anymore, as yet another secret society is the core of this novel. But it's a cracking good thriller with lots of clever twists and unexpected events - a real page turner!
What I felt let this novel down a bit, is the "philosophy" in the last 30-40 pages, which is a bit too much to my liking. The book could have ended a bit sooner than it did.
So if you don't look for any deep secret knowledge in the book (you won't learn too much about the masons here) but are looking for an excellent thriller, then this is the right book for you.
Highly recommended in paperback!
