Von der Zeitschrift Paris Match wurde Camille Thomas 2016 als »Nachwuchssolistin des Jahres« gewählt. Nun ist sie die erste Cellistin seit rund 40 Jahren, die exklusiv bei der Deutschen Grammophon unter Vertrag genommen wurde. Die französisch-belgische Künstlerin haucht mit ihrem Debüt-Album der Französischen Romantik neuen Charme ein, mit Werken von Camille Saint-Saëns und Jacques Offenbach.

Ihr Debüt-Album spiegelt Camille Thomas’ Liebe zur Musik der französischen Romantik. Sie interpretiert die Werke für Cello und Orchester mit ihrer ganz eigenen Zartheit und Ausdrucksstärke – darunter auch das Cellokonzert Nr. 1 von Saint-Saëns, ein Meisterwerk seines Genres, und ein bezaubernder Auszug aus Offenbachs Harmonies des Bois. Das Album wurde mit dem Orchèstre National de Lille unter Alexandre Bloch aufgenommen und beinhaltet Gastauftritte von Star-Tenor Rolando Villazón und dem Violinisten Nemanja Radulovic.
