Schätze aus der Zeit der Empfindsamkeit, der so bunten, wilden, widersprüchlichen Zeit Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts. Freiheitskämpfe (französische Revolution) auf der einen Seite, Rückzug ins bürgerliche Idyll (beginnendes Biedermeier) auf der anderen, Herausbildung des klassisch besetzten Orchesters und Entwicklung der alles dominierenden Sonatenform einerseits, intime, fantasiereiche und formal ungebundene Kammermusik andererseits. „Man soll aus der Seele heraus spielen, nicht wie ein trainierter Vogel“ sagte C. Ph. E. Bach, den die großen Meister der Wiener Klassik (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven) als ihren – wörtlich – musikalischen Vater ansahen. Carole Cerasi trägt zarte Schätze dieser Kunst auf einem Clavichord aus der Werkstatt von Christian Gotthelf Hoffmann vor, erbaut 1784.
