Für traditionelle Hornisten war die Entwicklung des Horns mit Ventilen im frühen 19. Jahrhundert schon fast ein Sakrileg. Auch wenn chromatisch gespielt werden konnte, bevorzugten viele Hornisten das Althergebrachte. Diese Aufnahme zeichnet die Entwicklung vom Naturhorn zum modernen Horn dieser Zeit nach.
