Dies ist die erste vollständige D'Oygly Carte Company-Aufnahme einer späten Savoy-Oper, neu gemastered und gekoppelt mit Highlights anderer Produktionen. »Ida« wird dirigiert von Isidore Godfrey, der fast 40 Jahre Musikdirektor der Company war. Die Highlights unter der Leitung von Malcolm Sargent wurden 1965 in der Phase 4 Stereo-Technik der Decca eingespielt, die dramatische Raumeffekte ermöglichte.
