Nachdem Larry Weinstein das 1985 erschienene Tribut-Album »Lost In The Stars - The Music of Kurt Weill« gehört hatte, wurde er inspiriert, den Nachfolger »September Songs - The Music of Kurt Weill« zu drehen. Dieses 94-minütige Musikvideo wurde in einem verlassenen Lagerhaus in Toronto aufgenommen, wo Musiker eine Reihe von Liedern von Kurt Weill aufführten. Zu den Musikern gehörten unter anderem Lou Reed, Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, Elvis Costello, Charlie Haden, Betty Carter und David Johansen. »September Songs« wurde für einen Emmy Award in der Kategorie Outstanding Cultural Program nominiert und gewann fünf Gemini Awards. »September Songs - The Music of Kurt Weill« ist zum ersten Mal auf Vinyl erhältlich, und zwar in einer limitierten Auflage von 1000 einzeln nummerierten Exemplaren auf Translucent Blue Coloured Vinyl und enthält einen Beileger mit Songtexten.
