Mit ihrer unglaublichen Darstellung des Giulio Cesare in Händels gleichnamiger Oper beim Glyndebourne Festival 2005 schrieb Dame Sarah Connolly geradezu Musikgeschichte. Dass sie mit ihrer farbenreichen Stimme viel mehr kann als hochvirtuose barocke Hosenrollen, zeigt sie auf dieser neuen Produktion mit Liedern von Britten, Villiers Stanford, Dunhill u. a, am Klavier begleitet von Joseph Middleton.
