William Alwyn (1905-1985) zählte zu den vielseitigsten und produktivsten Komponisten seiner Generation. Vor allem die abwechslungsreiche Filmmusik aus seiner Werkstatt suchte ihresgleichen, und Hollywood riss sich geradezu um seine Dienste. In der vierten Ausgabe der Erfolgs-Reihe »The Film Music of William Alwyn« sind nun Kompositionen zu »Insel der Verheißung«, »Ein Händedruck des Teufels« u. a. zu hören.
