Klappentext
In the land of Veydris, magic is a living force, bound and regulated by the sacred Amendments-ancient laws etched into the world's foundation. These laws have maintained balance for millennia, ensuring that the magic coursing through the land does not spiral into chaos. But when an enigmatic rebellion known as the Shattered Pact begins to destroy the Amendments one by one, the harmony of Veydris unravels. Spells go haywire, the natural world fractures, and ancient beasts thought to be extinct awaken, hungry for destruction.Kaleira, a scribe and reluctant mage, stumbles into the chaos when she uncovers a forbidden truth: the Amendments weren't merely laws-they were chains, created to imprison a forgotten power. When her discovery makes her a target for both the Shattered Pact and the Order of the Bound Flame, the organization sworn to uphold the Amendments, Kaleira is forced into hiding. Her only ally is Riven, a brooding bounty hunter with secrets of his own, who reluctantly agrees to help her untangle the mysteries surrounding the Amendments.
As the rebellion grows and the magic of Veydris becomes unstable, Kaleira and Riven must race against time to uncover the origin of the Amendments and the true purpose they serve. But the deeper they delve, the more they realize that the lines between right and wrong, and freedom and control, are not as clear as they seem. In a world teetering on the edge of collapse, they must choose whether to restore the Amendments or let them fall-and face the unimaginable consequences. Amendments is a spellbinding fantasy of rebellion, sacrifice, and the power to reshape a broken world.
Biografie
Joseph Mallord William Turner, geb. William Turner
