Quentin Tarantino wurde 1963 in Knoxville, Tennessee, geboren. 1992 lief sein erster Film "Reservoir Dogs" auf dem Sundance Film Festival, den Durchbruch hatte er 1994 mit "Pulp Fiction", für den er die Goldene Palme von Cannes erhielt sowie den Oscar und den Golden Globe für das beste Drehbuch. Quentin Tarantino gilt als Kultregisseur, da er mit seinen Gewaltexzessen, in Verbindung mit schrägem Humor und poetischen Bildern, einen neuen Stil prägte und das Independent-Kino zu weltweitem kommerziellem Erfolg führte.
