Michael W Wright: The Army That No One Wanted, Kartoniert / Broschiert

What if the people the world discarded were the very ones God was preparing to raise up?

For more than thirty-five years, former United States Marine and missionary Michael W. Wright, alongside his wife, Pat, has walked through the orphanages, children's homes, and underserved communities of Kenya-places many people visit, but few truly see.

In 1991, Michael and Pat did something that made little sense on paper. They sold everything they owned, packed up their lives and their two young children, and moved to a country they had never seen, following a calling they could no longer ignore. What they discovered was not simply a mission field.

It was an army waiting to rise.

The Army That No One Wanted: From Dry Bones to Destiny is the true story of children and young people who had been abandoned, orphaned, overlooked, and quietly taught by the world that they did not matter.

A girl who could barely lift her eyes. A young woman who had nearly given up on life.

Teen mothers counted out before they had the opportunity to begin again.

Children growing up without ever hearing the words: You are wanted. You have value. Your life has purpose.

But rejection would not have the final word.

Through faith, education, mentorship, opportunity, and love, something extraordinary began to happen. One child stood. Then another. Then dozens. Then hundreds.

What began with five young men standing in an empty field in Kenya grew into a movement serving generations of young people.

Drawing on the powerful biblical imagery of Ezekiel's valley of dry bones and David's gathering of the distressed and discarded, Michael tells a deeply personal story of faith, sacrifice, revival, restoration, and what can happen when someone refuses to accept the world's definition of another person's worth.

But there is another story beneath this one.

As Michael searches for the forgotten, he eventually confronts a truth about his own life: the wounded man looking for an army had once been one of the forgotten himself.

This is more than a missionary memoir. It is a testimony to what God can build from what others have abandoned. It is a reminder that purpose can rise from pain, dignity can rise from rejection, and an army can rise from dry bones.

The ones no one wanted may be exactly the ones God has been raising all along.
