Klappentext
There are six publications in issue 9, III-2024 of "Journal of Ethnic Microhistory".1. Ursula Dorn, the author of the biographical novel "I was a Wolf Kid from Königsberg" (original title in German: "Ich war ein Wolfskind aus Königsberg") has written the appeal to the people of the world under the title "The Traumas and Shaping of Personhoods of the War Children and Wolf Children of East Prussia" consisting of two parts. The original text of the appeal was written in German and is also published in the journal. It is followed by an excerpt from the biographical novel "I was a Wolf Kid from Königsberg".
2. Dipl.-Hist. Alex Dreger reviews the treatise "The Founding of the German Colony on the Daugava" (Original German title - "Die Gründung der deutschen Kolonie an der Düna", 1872) by historian Konstantin Höhlbaum pertaining to the founding of Riga as a German city.
3. The Kazakh authors describe the yurt - the main shelter of livestock farmers who inhabited Central Asia. "The yurt of the Kazakhs is a mirror of their life and traditions, economy and profession. An indication of the forgotten customs and traditions of the past."
4. The authors of the article "Franz Eduard Count of Totleben and the Malakhov Towers.
Creation of a Symbol" explore the world-wide symbols and notions based on the toponym 'Malakhov Kurgan' - a tactically important height in the city of Sevastopol during its Siege (1854-1855) in the course of the Crimean War (1853-1856). The symbol that is widespread in Germany and Europe is associated with the name of General Franz Eduard Count of Totleben (1818-1884) and defensive buildings - the Malakhov Towers.
5. The treatise "Coup d'État" by Walther Friesen examines the question of the involvement of Catherine II (1729-1796) in the murder of her husband, the legitimate Russian Emperor Peter III (1728-1762). The authenticity of his "Testament", according to which he abdicated from the throne, is considered to be highly doubtful. The paper is written in Russian and preceded by an extended English abstract.
6. The popular article "Recipes and Recommendations of Traditional Medicine" was written during the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. The author shares with readers the folk medicine recipes hygiene rules that could block the spread of coronaviruses.
