E Bryan Thomas: Mark of the Centipede, Gebunden

Klappentext

A dead coworker. A cryptic test. Mythical beings hiding-and hunting-in plain sight. For one junior database administrator, it all makes for a bad day in the office.

For readers who love bewildering puzzles, workplace satire, supernatural conspiracies, and ancient beings reincarnated as Goldendoodles, Mark of the Centipede is the first book in E. Bryan Thomas's urban fantasy quest series, The Scribe's Accounts.

Safety, monotony, anonymity: Life as an entry-level database administrator in the suburbs had it all. For Drew Turing, whose primary talent is faking his way through life, going unnoticed is the attraction.

But when a dead coworker pulls him into the mysterious Centipede Test, he learns of a world of supernatural beings who live side by side with humans-and that they know all about him.

Now Drew must race to conquer a series of cryptic puzzles to beat the test, while outwitting the ancient forces that would love to see him fail.

The fate of two worlds rests on his pudgy shoulders. Will he learn to trust his own ability and save himself-and keep both worlds from collapsing? Or will he be destroyed and erased from everyone's memory, like dozens of test entrants before him?

This time, there's no faking it.
