Biography (Arno Geiger)
Arno Geiger, geboren 1968 in Bregenz, Vorarlberg, wuchs in Wolfurt/Österreich auf. Er studierte Deutsche Philologie, Alte Geschichte und Vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft in Innsbruck und Wien. Seit 1993 ist er freier Schriftsteller. 1986 - 2002 war Arno Geiger im Sommer auch als Videotechniker bei den Bregenzer Festspielen tätig. 1996 und 2004 nahm er am Ingeborg-Bachmann-Wettbewerb in Klagenfurt teil. Er erhielt zahlreiche Auszeichnungen und Ehrungen. 2008 wurde Arno Geiger mit dem "Johann-Peter-Hebel-Preis" geehrt und 2011 mit dem "Friedrich Hölderlin-Preis" für sein bisheriges literarisches Werk sowie mit dem "Literaturpreis der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung 2011" ausgezeichnet. 2012 erhielt er den "Literaturpreis der Österreichischen Industrie - Anton Wildgans".
