The SACD uses a higher digital resolution than the audio CD and also offers the possibility to store multi-channel sound (surround sound). To enjoy the music in high-end quality, a special SACD player is required. Thanks to the hybrid function, most of the products marked "SACD" in our store can also be played on conventional CD players. In this case, however, the sound does not differ from that of a normal CD. In case of deviations, we point this out separately (non-hybrid).

Vincent Lübeck & die Treutmann-Orgel
In unserer großangelegten SACD-Edition mit Gesamteinspielungen der großen Orgelmeister des norddeutschen Barock an historischen Instrumenten widmen wir uns dieses Mal dem in Padingbüttel geborenen Vincent Lübeck nebst seinem Sohn. Mit 20 Jahren wurde Vincent, d. Ä. Organist an St. Cosmae et Damiani, ab 1690 zusätzlich auch noch Titularorganist an der schwedischen St. Marien Etatskirche in Stade. Als Lehrer genoß er dort einen solchen Ruf, daß Schüler von nah und fern zu ihm kamen. Aber auch als Komponist und Orgelbausachverständiger stand er in hohem Ansehen, so daß man ihn 1702 an die Hamburger Nicolaiorgel berief. Dort wurde nach seinem Tode sein Sohn – ebenfalls mit dem Namen Vincent – sein Nachfolger. Die vorliegende Einspielung vereint sämtliche überlieferte Orgelwerke von Vater und Sohn, wobei die meisten der Orgelwerke vor 1710 entstanden sind. Auffällig sind die Vorliebe für Reperkussionsmotivik sowie die Vielzahl der Fugen mit Doppelthemen. Die konzertanten Passagen, die eingängige Melodik und oft klare Harmonik zeigen eine Hinwendung zum galanten Stil. Mit gravitätischem, grundtönigen Klang interpretiert Friedhelm Flamme die Werke auf der Treutmann-Orgel, die als einzig erhaltene Treutmann-Orgel eines der bedeutendsten Instrumente aus der ersten Hälfte des 18. Jahrhunderts ist und eine Synthese aus norddeutschem und mitteldeutschem Orgelbau darstellt.

Vincent Luebeck and the Treutmann Organ
Our magnificent SACD edition featuring complete recordings of the great organ masters of the North German baroque on historical instruments now turns to the Padingbüttel native Vincent Luebeck and his son. At the age of twenty Vincent the Elder became the organist at the Church of Sts. Cosmas and Damian and beginning in 1690 he also served as titular organist at the Swedish St. Mary's Church in Stade. As a teacher he enjoyed such a reputation there that pupils came to him from near and far. He also enjoyed great esteem as a composer and organ-building expert and was appointed organist at the Church of St. Nicholas in Hamburg in 1702. After his death his son, also named Vincent, became his successor. The present recording brings together the complete extant organ works of father and son, with most of them going back to before 1710. A predilection for Reperkussionsmotivi and the great many fugues with double themes stand out. The concertante passages, catchy melodies, and often clear harmonies reflect a turning to the style galant. It is with a sound marked by gravity and fundamental tones that Friedhelm Flamme interprets these works on the Treutmann organ, the only extant organ by Christoph Treutmann and thus one of the most important instruments from the first half of the eighteenth century and a organ representing a synthesis of Northern and Central German building styles.
