American Diners are synonymous with fantastic, feelgood tracks from the 50s and 60s. The iconic imagery is an instant nostalgic trip back to one of the most exciting eras in music – the birth of Rock & Roll and Original Soul.
Rock and Roll as big now as ever before with the success of the Dreamboats & Petticoats series but adding in soul classics too gives it a fresh new dimension.
We have 44 original classics from the era featuring The Shangri La’s ‘Leader Of The Pack’, The Everly Brothers ‘All I Have To Do Is Dream’, Bobby Darin ‘Don’t Rain On My Parade’, Bob & Earl’s ‘Harlem Shuffle’, Jackie Wilson ‘Reet Petite’, Booker T & The MGs ‘Green Onions’, Shocking Blue’s ‘Venus’, The Turtles ‘Happy Together’ and Chris Montez’s ‘Let’s Dance’.
There are also appearances from Andy Williams, Norman Greenbaum, Al Green, The Dixie Cups, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, The Champs and more. Many tracks will be familiar from current TV campaigns by Vauxhall (Don’t Rain On My Parade/ Bobby Darin & Don’t You Just Know It/ Huey Piano Smith), and Dreams Beds (The Chordettes/ Mr Sandman) plus classic film soundtracks (Animal House – Louie Louie). There are several Number 1 records and even the odd classic sample too from Fatboy Slim and Groove Armada thrown in for good measure.
There is clearly a very big 50+ active CD buying market for this type of product plus it has good gifting potential for the newly created Grandparents Day on October 4th. Ice Cream Sodas all round!
