»Tommy« zum ersten Mal in voller Länge
Im April 2017 haben The Who ihre Rockoper »Tommy« erstmalig komplett aufgeführt, und zwar in der legendären Londoner Royal Alber Hall. Mit »Tommy: Live At The Royal Albert Hall« gibt es jetzt endlich den Mitschnitt dieses Konzertes in Bild und Ton.Bereits einige Male zuvor haben The Who ihr Konzeptalbum aus dem Jahr 1969 auf die Bühne gebracht, auf ein paar Songs hat die Band bei diesen Aufführungen aber immer verzichtet.
Diesmal war es anders: Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey und Co. spielten »Tommy« in voller Länge, begleitet von speziellen Animationen. Und nicht nur das: Am Ende des Gigs überraschte die Band ihre Fans mit einem weiteren kleinen Set mit The-Who-Klassikern wie Baba O’Riley«, »I Can’t Explain« und »Join Together«. Diese Stücke warten ebenfalls auf »Tommy: Live At The Royal Albert Hall«.
