‚Retropolis‘ ist das zweite Studioalbum der Band und wurde 1996 in der Besetzung Roine Stolt, Tomas Bodin, Michael Stolt, Jaime Salazar, Hasse Fröberg, Ulf Wallander und Hasse Bruniusson eingespielt.
Nach The Flower King und Back In The World Of Adventures lieferten der schwedische Gitarrist Roine Stolt und seine Band 1996 mit Retropolis ihr bis dato schlüssigstes Opus ab. Der Titel ist Programm, denn hier herrscht reichlich 70s-Flair vor, mit bombastischen Arrangements, melancholischen Balladen und zwei Longsongs. Zudem ein Fest für Mellotron- und Hammond-Freunde!
