Experimental, even by The Flaming Lips standards, the band's third album is a glorious and mind-expanding mix of heavily effected guitar solos, backwards recordings and surrealistic imagery. Telepathic Surgery became a big influence on many bands such as Mercury Rev and Beck to Grandaddy and The Olivia Tremor Control.
