Nach diversen schweren Erkrankungen von Sänger Mike Peters und seiner Frau Jules (Piano, Background-Vocals) in den letzten Jahren, zeigen sich The Alarm wieder in Topform. Das neue Album »Equals« wurde von George Williams produziert, der bereits an dem 2005er Werk »Under Attack« mitwirkte, und beginnt sogleich mit zwei epischen Rock-Nummern, darunter die erste Single »Beautiful«, die den neuen Lebenswillen des Paares symbolisieren. An den Aufnahmen beteiligt waren prominente Musiker der UK Alternative/Post-Punk-Szene wie Steve »Smiley« Barnard (Drummer von Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros) und James Stevenson (Gitarrist bei Chelsea, Gen X, The Cult), darüber hinaus gibt The Cult-Gitarrist Billy Duffy ein Gastfeature auf »Coming Backwards«.

The turbulence of the last few years has shaken The Alarm's world to its core but we have survived the challenges and are now ready for the next steps, which is performing the music live with our fans adding to the experience. Myself and the band are primed and ready to give everything we have to make this year a life affirming experience for all our fans.«
