Blu-ray Audio

Die Blu-ray Audio Disc (auch Pure Audio Blu-ray) ist technisch gesehen eine ganz normale Blu-ray Disc und lässt sich auf jedem Blu-ray-Player abspielen. Allerdings enthält sie keinen Videoinhalt. Die hohe Speicherkapazität wird für hochauflösende Audiodaten (Stereo und Surround, bis 24 bit/192 kHz) genutzt. Bedient wird sie entweder ohne Bildschirm wie eine herkömmliche CD oder über das Onscreen-Menü wie eine normale Blu-ray Disc.

Als Rush in London waren, um ihr sechstes Album "Hemispheres" aufzunehmen, waren die drei Kanadier bestens vorbereitet, denn sie hatten mehr als einen Monat lang geprobt und an den Instrumenten gefeilt. "Wir mussten perfekt sein", sagt Sänger und Bassist Geddy Lee. "Wir mussten uns selbst pushen und unser Spiel erhöhen ... das war eine sehr ambitionierte Aufnahme."

Hemispheres war ein anspruchsvolles Album, aber es markiert einen entscheidenden Punkt in der Geschichte von Rush. Das Album fängt perfekt ein, wo sie zu der Zeit mit ihren Köpfen waren und zeigt die Fähigkeit des Trios, eine ausgedehnte konzeptionelle Ästhetik zu konstruieren, die mit gekonnter und erfinderischer Musikalität zum Leben erweckt wird.
