Keine Music Box, leider

Die Partnerschaft von Tommy Mottola und Mariah Carey hielt leider nicht lange. Das galt für die Ehe und die musikalische Zusammenarbeit. Der Produktionschef der Sony sah seine Frau bei den Balladen, das zu recht. Mariah wollte unbedingt zu Rhythm and Blues, naja. Das vorliegende Album ist das letzte im Sinne Mottolas, wenn auch das Abdriften der Mariah zu spüren ist. Alter Glanz kommt noch meist auf. Vor allem Journeys "Open Arms" sind wie gewohnt zu völlig neuem Leben erweckt. Die großen Alben der Mariah sind aber die drei davor (s. meine Empfehlungen unten).
Ich habe mir ihre Alben auf CD nie gekauft, das Medium war mir für diese Stimme nicht geeignet. Ich habe bis zu den LPs der SONY gewartet.
Die Preßqualität ist ordentlich bis gut, so ganz ruhig läuft das Vinyl leider nicht. Es gibt einige Nebengeräusche aus der Rille. Die neue Abmischung klingt bestens. Die LP befindet sich in einer Papierhülle, die extrem stark statisch aufgeladen ist. Es ist Vorsicht geboten, die LP überhaupt aus ihr heraus zu bekommen. Es lohnt sich ohnehin musikalisch, mehrere dieser Alben auf einmal zu bestellen. Ab 50 Euro für Vinyl gibt es bei jpc 5 Innenhüllen gratis dazu, wenn man will. Ich habe sie mir bestellt und umgetütet. Das ist so wesentlich besser.
