Der amerikanische Sänger und Pianist Leslie ›Hutch‹ Hutchinson war einer der weltweit größten Stars des Kabaretts in den 1920er und 1930er Jahren. Er lebte in London und war eine Zeit lang der ›Liebling‹ des Adels. Er machte die Songs der großen amerikanischen Komponisten wie Rodgers und Hart, George Gershwin und besonders Cole Porter in Großbritannien bekannt. Er war enorm wichtig und maßgebend für die Akzeptanz von schwarzen Künstlern in Großbritannien.
