Ram Records / Chase & Status take centre stage for the release of their debut album after signing exclusively to Ram Records around 18 months ago. After releasing only 3 singles whilst signed, the duo have been working tirelessly to create what promises to be an absolute masterpiece. ~More Than Alot~ has allowed Chase & Status to express themselves fully and push the boundaries of their music to the limit like never before. This album encompasses everything D&B has to offer from dance floor smashers, ~Smash TV~, ~Is It Worth It~, ~Music Club~ and ~Pieces~ feat. Plan B which is destined for mainstream playlist at radio 1, to the old-skool sounds of ~Streetlife~, onto the musical masterpiece that is ~Cant Get Enough~ and the sultry ~Take You
There~ feat. Digga. All this is topped off with what are undoubtably 2 of the biggest selling D&B 12~ releases of 2007 / 08, ~Hurt You~ and ~Take Me Away~. Thus giving you the perfect recipe of what is set to be the cross-over album of the year.
Not content with being ahead of the game within the Drum & Bass scene Chase & Status have taken it upon themselves to flex their production muscles within other genres. Teaming up with UK Hip Hop legend Kano on ~Against All Odds~, a vocal-led apache work out with sample splashes of Lou Rawls, has got everyone from Tim Westwood to Ras Kwame waiting with baited breath. And having already taken over the ever popular Dub Step scene with ~Eastern Jam~ (out sep 29) they~re set to go one step further with the electro fueled ~Running~ which has the potential to be the biggest cross over track in this newly evolving scene to date.
Successes before signing to Ram Records saw Chase & Status release a whole host of hits on various labels including: ~Duppy Man~ for Breakbeat Kaos, ~Ten Tonne~ EP on Renegade Hardware, and the monstrous ~Druids~, ~Loves Theme~ and award winning ~In Love~ with Jenna G on Bingo Beats. As well as this Chase & Status have notched up an impressive remix list which includes: ~Everyday~ for Shy FX & T Power, ~No Good~ by Plan B on 679 Records and ~Sirens~ for Dizzee Rascal on XL Recordings to name but a few.
Selected tracks have already been getting major support from lead taste-makers within specialist circles on the D&B and Dub Step scenes and at national radio level by Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, Ras Kwame, Fabio, Pete Tong, Mary Anne Hobbs, Annie Nightingale, and DJ Hype etc. Radio 1 have confirmed a live Maida Vale session to be recorded and aired on Fabio, Ras Kwame and Zane Lowe~s Shows at different occasions over the 2 weeks leading up to the album release. A national and european promotional tour will be in full swing throughout September, October, and November and will include both DJ shows and live sessions featuring the vocalists featured on the album.
