Was als Soloprojekt von Sänger und Songwriter Dan Smith begann, avancierte vor gut sechs Jahren zur Band. Mit Dans Geburtstag und dem an diesem Tag gefeierten französischen Nationalfeiertag war schnell ein Name gefunden: Bastille. Ihr Debütalbum eroberte schließlich vor drei Jahren die Spitze der Charts. Danach ging die Band erst einmal auf umfassende Welttournee.
Mit ihrem lang erwarteten Nachfolger »Wild World« beweisen die vier Briten 2016, dass sie garantiert keine Eintagsfliege sind.

Die Welt kann schon verrückt sein. Die vier Jungs von Bastille müssen es wissen. Nachdem ihr Debüt vor drei Jahren regelrecht durch die Decke schoss, tourte die Band erst einmal um den gesamten Globus. 2016 folgt endlich ihr Nachfolgeralbum. Es heißt bezeichnenderweise »Wild World«.
So schrieben Dan Smith und Co. einen Großteil ihrer neuen Songs im Tourbus, in Backstagebereichen und Hotelzimmern auf der ganzen Welt. Jeder dieser Orte sei deshalb auch in die Platte mit eingeflossen.
Was die Musik auf »Wild World« betrifft, knüpfen Bastille an ihren Sound von »Bad Blood« (2013) an. Synthesizerlastiger Elektropop trifft Indierock mit großen Melodien. Dans soulige Stimme und sein betörend britischer Akzent sind gewissermaßen zum Markenzeichen der Band geworden.
Und weil es ja bereits beim ersten Album so rund klang, holten sich die Jungs zur Unterstützung einen alten Bekannten ins Studio: den Londoner Produzenten Mark Crew.
Einen Vorgeschmack auf das neue Album gab es ebenfalls bereits: »Good Grief« heißt die erste Singleauskopplung von »Wild World«.
Mit Spannung haben Bastille-Fans auf das neue Album der Indierocker gewartet. Jetzt ist »Wild World« endlich da. So wild ist es gar nicht, dafür aber typisch Bastille. Und genau so soll es sein.
