Held in the picturesque setting of Jamaica's Montego Bay, Reggae Sunsplash is the original, biggest and most prestigious of all reggae festivals. Reggae Sunsplash was the first and biggest festival for reggae musicians and fans. First held in 1978, it rapidly became the venue for established superstars and up-and-coming contenders. Bob Marley, newly elevated to global popularity, chose to headline Sunsplash in 1979 and that gave the lead for others to follow. The festival attracted not just native Jamaicans but music fans from all over the world. Within a few years there were audiences in excess of 50, 000 attending the concerts. This collection features nearly two hours and a half hours of highlights from Sunsplash concerts held between 1987 and 1990 includes contributions from the biggest names in reggae. Premier league reggae artists featured here include Dennis "Crown Prince of Reggae" Brown, Gregory "Cool Ruler" Isaacs and Bunny Wailer, who for years was Marley's partner in The Wailers.
